Small Mournings

with Anna Natt

How do we commemorate those who did not play a large role in our lives, yet were part of the tapestry that is life?

A friend of a friend we spoke with once.

The person who worked at our favorite café.

The man walking his dogs each morning as we hurried to the train.

They were there until suddenly, they were not.

When we lose someone close, there is a script. Rituals, condolences, time set aside for grief. But how do we do the small mournings, the ones where the absence is felt yet quiet and overlooked? How do we honor the fleeting presences that shaped our days in subtle ways?

Together we will share stories, and create small acts of remembrance for those who have passed through our lives lightly, but not without meaning.
