What I still Wanted to Say - Your Cinematic Legacy

At the Death Festival 2025, several deeply personal and intimate film recordings were created – featuring and about people who reflected on what they would want to leave behind for their loved ones if today were their last day. Over the course of the year, some of these “last words” developed into complete short films – films that participants, for instance, wish to include with their will or have shown at their memorial or celebration-of-life ceremonies. In this workshop, I will share a few brief excerpts from these films, offer insights into my work on them and other “farewell films”/“legacy films,” and explore together with you how we can integrate the idea of “last words” into our lives during and beyond the Death Festival.
