#yodo – you only die once: a movement workshop about dying, death, grief & care work
with Michi Maxi Schulz
The workshop consists of various movement exercises, performative interventions, and artistic knowledge transfer. Together, we explore the following questions: What process does a dying person go through—biologically and emotionally? How can loved ones and companions support this process? How can I use my own inner creative power to express this journey? What is death? What do I want to take with me into death? What do I want to leave behind?
Participants are introduced to a new, contemporary form of artistic knowledge-sharing on the topics of dying, death, grief and care work (DDGC). The workshop is designed as a low-threshold offering, providing a space to engage with one’s own mortality and the emotional world that comes with it. The goal is to reduce fear of contact and contribute to the destigmatization of DDGC.
Please bring an object that you associate with the themes of DDGC and would like to leave on the #yodo altar. Also, please bring warm socks, slippers, or indoor shoes.
